I’ll help you develop habits in improving conversation, blocking distractions, putting variety in your to-do lists, having a structure in your schedule, keeping something in your hand to feel on task, and rewarding yourself for small successes. Daily habits…

For people with ADHD, daily habits can really make the needed difference. I’ll teach you what to expect of yourself and how to attend to responsibility with a structure to get great results without feeling overwhelmed, wasting time planning, or being unsure about what to do next. Your habits will lead to happiness and success as you rhythmically do what is most important to you.

Conversations…

You may have noticed that ADHD makes it hard to focus in conversations. Getting distracted, off-topic, or forgetting what you were going to say can be easy. I’ll teach you to learn to focus on the point, watch certain parts of a person’s face in conversation, and keep something interesting in mind to help keep the conversation going. Your focus techniques will lead you to develop great rapport and an appreciation for spending time with others.

Organization…

You feel ready to perform when you are organized, even with ADHD. I’ll help you learn the best way to keep organized so there will be no more forgetting where you put important items. You’ll feel prepared and energized because your home will be ready to do work and fun activities. You’ll enjoy being on time, solving problems for others, and feeling ready for anything!

He wanted to improve the quality of his schoolwork and social skills.

He had the habit of losing focus on his teachers as they lectured. He also got distracted in conversations with peers, often ending them prematurely. His homework wasn’t getting done, and he felt annoyed he couldn’t finish projects at home without getting off task and forgetting what he was doing.

Travis and I worked together for a couple of months. I taught him how to make lists, use a planner, break large tasks into smaller chunks, and remove distractions from his study and work environments.

He also learned to block out background distractions, schedule breaks from his schoolwork, and hold sensory items to keep his mind engaged.

We discussed what to focus on in the classroom and during conversations with others so that he didn’t lose interest or his ability to make sense of what was being said.

With time and effort, Travis became successful at school and in his personal interactions.
